Über die Veranstaltung
Miryam Solomon is a London-based artist, by way of Sweden and Eritrea. Her work is
underpinned by her love for rhythms, vocal interplay and storytelling. As an artist, performer and collaborator, her work spans a wide range of projects and releases across folk, jazz and vocal improvisation; including releasing on Blue Note Records with Matters Unknown, touring internationally with ‘Arch’- a performance installation opera by Kaleider, and recording on Onyeka Igwe's sound and film installation ‘No Archive Can Restore This Chorus of (Diasporic) Shame’ exhibited at 2024 Venice Biennale.
Romance, her latest solo release on South London label Albert’s Favourites, is a dream-like journey where unexpected turns and sounds, interlocking rhythms and voice, paint vivid and evocative worlds. With her trio she continues to explore the possibilities of voice and rhythm in a way that is both playful and tender.
