Follia

If there are drawers for genres in music, then Follia pulls from the entire dresser. With both feet firmly planted in classical music, she brings out wild arpeggios and melodic solos, while her arms dig through folk and pop for groove and catchy harmonies. She blends it all together on her double bass and feeds it into her loop station. Above it, she sings expressive lyrics about living, loving, and loving life. Follia is the solo project of Lia Neff, born during the masterclass with Sophie Hunger at HSLU. While most other participants accompanied themselves on guitar or piano, Lia had to find a different way. With the loop station, she created her own band, enjoying the autonomy and creative possibilities so much that she decided to continue developing Follia.
